OPEN TRIAL ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CISAPRIDE(PREPULSID®) IN THE TREATMENT OF G.I DISORDERS

Abstract
|
|
|
A open study was performed in twenty-four patients with symptoms of upper G.I. complaints who had no organic diseases such as peptic ulcer, stomach cancer, and biliary tract diseases to .evaluate the therapeutic effect of cisapride.
The patients were treated with 5mg or lflmg ´ of cisapride orally three ´times , daily for 4 weeks.
The obtained results were as follows.
1) In the global response to treatment, 70.8 % of patients showed good or excellent results.
2) Particulary, the dyspeptic symptoms such as abdominal distension, epigastric pain, or bloatedness were improved.
3) No side effects were observed Therefore, we have impressed that cisapride, a new gastrokinetic agent, is effective in the treatment of chronic gastritis.
